Romeo & Juilet Premonitions

From the age of six to ten i lived at a indoor skate park in Olympia called Capital City. The skate park shut down before the summer of 2004. i had thought the park might shut down because there were fewer and fewer people coming on a regular basis. also we were approaching the summer (a time that people want to be outside and not at the park.)

there was nothing i could have done to prevent this from happening however i should have believed my intuition so i could have been prepared for the park's death. i never wanted to believe believe that it might close but i should have prepared myself. My life was completely different after "CCSP" closed. i wish i hadn't but for the next year For the next year i quite skateboarding and it was the worst year of my life. i can't get by with out skateboarding. for me it was starting all over again but i had to.

Shakespearean Stories

The movie She's the man is based off of Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night written 400 years ago. The movie is set in current times however follows the same plot as the original play does. In the movie the main character Viola descises herself as her brother, who has left home and asked her to go to school for him. She agrees to go to school for him in order to escape her mother and play soccer. Viola falls in love with a boy named Duke who is also on the soccer team. The only problem is that he thinks that she's a man. there is a big love triangle formed by all of the main characters but in the end everyone is able to find the right person including viola who has to give up her charade and tell everyone who she really is. She's the man the movie is based completely on Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night and uses two of his favorite plot ideas mistaken identity and love triangle.

Shakespeare's plays have inspired many directors. There have been many movies made that are based almost completely or made loosely on his stories. Shakespeare's ideas however can be found in many other films and tv shows. he had some of the most entertaining and genius work of all time and he still does. his plots will be seen forever in new films and books.

Anticipating Shakespeare

I have enjoyed Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream the movie. I have enjoyed this this movie because of the interesting language and because of the many twists this story takes. Shakespeare uses poetic language which can become confusing at times but adds greatly to the setting and makes his literature unique. The basic plot in this movie is simple but there are many details. I enjoy the characters sometimes however it is hard fore me to remember some of the characters names because they are somewhat strange. I have enjoyed the characters and there language  in this movie although it is sometimes hard to interpret.

i am excited to be reading Romeo and Juliet this next week for i have only heard good things of this story and i have been enjoying Shakespeare's other story A Midsummer night's Dream. I also look forward to be reading this story in class because it is in play form. I enjoy acting and hopefully we will be doing some. After watching the movie A Midsummer Night's Dream i think that myself and the rest of the class will be ready for the language in Romeo and Juliet. I think i will like the book because i'm am enjoying watching one of Shakespeare's other stories and because the books are always better than the movies.
