Artricus's reaction to the kids playing "the Boo Radley game" and Miss Maudie's talk with Scout about Boo Radley both made me realize that maybe Boo wasn't the character i thought he was? Artricus was mad at the kids for playing such a game and he said "stop tormenting that man." Artricus doesn't want them to be disrespectful to Boo. This showed me that older people have respect for him although some of the kids in maycome do not. Miss Madie tells Scout that she new Arthur Radley "Boo" as a child and that he was always very respectful to her and polite. She said that he and his family are foot washers "people that think that all pleasures are sins." This maybe one reason he does not go outside? Boo Radley is probably controlled by his family.

Changing Perceptions of Boo Radley
My perception of Boo Radley has changed throughout the story. One occurrence that changed my ideas about Boo Radley was when he began putting gifts into the knot-hole, giving them to Jem and Scout. Later on Nathan Radley filled the hole with cement. I believe that he did this so that Boo could not enjoy giving things to the kids and he could no longer communicate in anyway. When Jem got his pants ripped and stuck on the fence at the Radleys he initially left them. When he came back he found his pants mended and folded on top to the fence. This showed me that Boo is probably a kind generous person. When i first began reading this book i thought that Boo was just a squirrel eating freak however now i can see that thats false and that he's a nice person, just with a weird family.
